The 6IXERS Embrace Their Inner N.W.A.

In 2024, we got MEET THE 6IXERS from BigXThaPlug and his crew at 600 Entertainment. A crew made up of Yung Hood, MurdaGang PB & Ro$ama, alongside BigX as the leader. This time, they bring a West Coast twist with the N.W.A. inspired 6WA, accompanied by Snoop Dogg and even a word from The D.O.C., as the crew does what they do best.

Now I’ve been a fan of BigXThaPlug and Ro$ama, so I already went into this with expectations for them both. I’d heard less of Yung Hood and MurdaGang PB, but both did a good job and held their own on every track with the more established members. Not leaving a major hole from a lacking member. I appreciate how much these guys stuck to the West Coast/NWA sound & samples. You can tell they really leaned into it, which is what you want when they come with 6WA and the cover to match. I also really like the leadership role that it feels like Ro$ama has rightfully stepped into. He’s the best lyricist and songwriter in the crew, and if BigXThaPlug is going to continue to do country, they need a guy who’s all in on Hip-Hop like Ro$ama.

I would say there are no bad songs here, but most of my favorites are the ones with the most West Coast influence. 6WA, 6IXER PARTY, LIFE OF A GANGSTA, DOPEMAN & AMERIKKKA’S MOST WANTED. But FROM THE BOTTOM, 600 DEGREES & WHO DUNNIT are all strong tracks that have more of the 600 Entertainment/Tony Coles sound that I love. Speaking of, the production here is very good. Less Tony Coles than I expected and wanted, but still plenty of heat brought from guys like Rance, LilJuMadeTheBeat, Charley Cooks, and more. A very cohesive sound.

If you like BigXThaPlug, then this is a project for you. You’ll like Ro$ama and the rest of the 600 Entertainment crew. Now, if you don’t love NWA or the West Coast style, this won’t be for you, or if you aren’t into BigX, then I’m not sure this will be the project to flip you. As for me, someone who already liked the 600 crew and has been waiting for more music, this hit the spot.
