Album Review: Maxo Kream – Personification

Reviewed By: Southside_Gunn

So we have to acknowledge that Maxo is one of the best storytellers in all of rap. The man is able to paint vivid pictures with all his work. One thing about Maxo is that you’re also gonna get some witty ass bars.

Normally with artists from Texas they have an element of chopped and screwed somewhere in their work. Maxo hasn’t had that element for majority of his prior work so to hear it on this project was hella refreshing. Those chopped and screwed moments brought a different layer to the tracks. Production is really good here because of the various stages of darkness but also hype moments.

The features are dope. Tyler, the creator, Mexican OT, Josh Kream and even Rob49’s non rhyming self had really good verses. From a conceptual standpoint this might be one of his best projects. It’s definitely one of those projects where you have different things to listen for as you go back to it over and over.

Honestly, if you’re not listening to Maxo by now, you are legit missing out on some fire music . This album is definitely worth your time, I’ll put that on the Locs 😎.

Album Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆(8.9/10)
