Album Review for GNX by Kendrick Lamar

I mean what can I say…. The fact that we got the surprise drop from Kendrick is crazy because fan or not, EVERYONE dropped what they were doing to listen. We can all agree off first listen, the shit SLAPS. You can tell this album has a different vibe to it because it doesn’t feel as though he was pressed for a concept but rather just getting in the booth and just rapping!

Feature-wise, if you could actually tell who were the features were all good. Like we got an Ink feature in 2024 and it was hella nice. The production…nigga….!!! Some of the beats are making you C-walk, some have you bopping your head making the stank face, and some are conscious for you true Hip Hop heads.

Lyrically, the subtle shots are there. Bars…FIRE! There is also a lot of self awareness that isn’t prevalent with a lot of artists and Kendrick provides that. There is tons of replay value here and it’s a really cohesive project.

I’m not even gonna hold you, this might be there for consideration for album of the year.
