R&B/Hip-Hop Fusion
Reviewed By: Malik the Villain

Upon first listen, I can tell that this album was heavily inspired by Tyler, The Creator, which is a good thing. The R&B/Hip-Hop fusion on this album is nothing short of amazing, with the opening track, “Came In It,” providing something to look forward to. As I mentioned before, this album is very much influenced by Tyler, The Creator, with the production reflecting that in songs like “Duya,” “Out Miami,” “IYKYK,” and “Kingdom of Hearts.” The overall sound is relaxed and chilled, with heavy 808 bass drums added in, giving it a unique quality.
One of the standout aspects of Melody of A Memory is its exploration of personal themes and introspective lyrics. Eem dives deep into his experiences, weaving intricate narratives that resonate with listeners. Songs like “FIJI” and “CRAZY H*ES” showcase not only his lyrical prowess but also his ability to connect emotionally, making the audience feel the highs and lows of his journey. The album does an excellent job of balancing light-hearted moments with more serious reflections, creating a rich tapestry of sound and storytelling that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish.
The hooks and rhyme schemes are very groovy and catchy, with Eem showcasing his ability to hold his own on solo tracks without making them feel boring or repetitive. Additionally, his capability to switch flows mid-song is impressive.
I appreciate that Eem is able to play off the features on this album and complement them without overshadowing one another. Not to mention, he mostly self-produced this album along with DJ Dahi. I love the artistic direction he took with this project, making it a step up from his previous releases. Overall, this album is definitely worth a listen and offers a great vibe.
