Underrated Rap Album Worth Your Attention
By: Marquis “Southside Gunn” Harris

This album is the definition of someone who has talent and deserves a lot more recognition because it is really f*cking good. One song was randomly sent to me, which led me to this project. The project features some really dope lyrical rap, low-key and smooth production, as well as excellent song structure. The tone of the project is very upbeat, and you can hear influences of other artists, but not to the point where it’s copied; this project is truly something different.
You don’t get catchy hooks anymore, but this project has them. The few featured artists also delivered excellent verses. This is an album where the lyrics have an actual purpose, and that’s a rare feat nowadays. The album starts off nicely and maintains a good balance of upbeat and somber melodies throughout the project. The production is consistently engaging, with each track bringing its own unique flair while still feeling cohesive within the album’s overall sound. This ability to mix various elements—like smooth beats, intricate wordplay, and emotional depth—helps the project stand out in a crowded music landscape.
Now, this project isn’t without faults. The 6th track, “Catch Myself,” isn’t really needed on this album and kind of sticks out rather than blending smoothly with the rest of the project. As an entire body of work, the album is pretty solid, and it serves as a good introduction to an artist you might not be familiar with.
