Album Review – Kali Uchis – Sincerely

An audible hypnosis

A woman in a delicate outfit sits on a glossy, sculpted surface with a dreamy background.

Though labeled as a pop album, this project has some real deep R&B ties. It blends together so perfectly with her step into the pop genre as well. From the beginning to the end, the album is well paced, allowing tracks to breathe. It has excellent cohesion as well. The album has amazing vocals and the instrumentals to match.

Kali Uchis layers her voice so beautifully and that’s probably her best quality as an artist. She’s able to put you in a trance while you’re listening. You feel relaxed and comfortable just hearing the vocal melodies being sung to absolute perfection. Her storytelling ability and substance allows each track to have a deeper meaning than what’s being sung. Making you able to start to understand her story that much more.

The piano keys, drums, strings and everything else comes together to a point where you’ve embraced the production and can listen to the instrumentals by themselves. The production allows Kali to really get the most from her vocals but not overpowering her as she delivers great performances through the project.

Another amazing project to add to an already great catalog with plenty of replay value. Take the time to check it out.
