A seasoned veteran with a razor-sharp pen

Real rap. Heavy rap. True New York rap. Straight bars. No games. That’s how this project is. One thing about Lloyd Banks is that you’re going to get consistent flows and lyrics and this album is no different. n a landscape where many artists prioritize catchy hooks and overproduced beats, Lloyd Banks returns to remind us of the essence of hip-hop: raw honesty and lyrical prowess. This project feels like a breath of fresh air for purists, as Banks expertly navigates through intricate wordplay and storytelling, showcasing why he remains a mainstay in the rap game.
18 heavily barred up tracks going about 1 hour and 6 minutes. Notable features include RANSOM, Styles P & Ghostface Killah. Just like Lloyd each feature was able to give you some true heat that feels like the real New York sound. Each track is not just a display of talent, but a testament to his dedication to hip-hop culture and the New York ethos. The collaborations feel genuine, with every feature seamlessly blending into the fabric of the project, enhancing rather than overshadowing Banks’ unparalleled style.
The production does take a back seat in a sense because the album is more so about the stylistic rap rather than the beats. That’s not a slight to the production in the slightest. The production feels smooth, cohesive and simplistic. It doesn’t overwhelm the listener, and it doesn’t make the lyrics feel out of place.
It might not be a classic project, but it’s a solid one nonetheless. There are definitely some tracks worth checking out more than just a couple of times. This album stands as a declaration that true rap can still thrive, as long as artists like Lloyd Banks continue to lead the charge. This is a solid album in the catalog of Lloyd Banks.
