Stellar Hip-Hop Excellence


An artist who has a very underrated discography as it stands, delivers an amazing project with excellent wordplay, production and features. Ovrkast. has always been slick with his rhymes and is always very clever in regards to his subject matter. Ovrkast is a true artist’s “artist”.
Throughout the album, you get some very smooth raps as well as some different cadences. The multitude of flows also allows this project to have seamless transitions and great cohesion. The production starts out more simplistic but picks up when the features come into play.
Speaking of features, this project might have the best feature list of the year. From Samara Cyn, to Vince Staples, to MAVI, to Saba… there isn’t a single wasted feature at all. Ovrkast is able to fit the stylistic elements of his features. They are able to bring in different types of performance that enhance the project.
Ovrkast has an effortless delivery, but he is also able to entice you with emotion. It is easy to tell that he pulls from real life experiences and adversity to craft his lyrics. Along with the substance, he has great rhyme schemes and witty metaphors. As long as he continues to supply music of this quality, it’s only a matter of time before he really blows up. He has all the ingredients, now he just has to keep cooking.
Overall, the project has some dope sounds, amazing features, solid verses and hooks. Throughout the whole album, there is very high caliber production that provides a clean and enjoyable sound. This is probably one of the best Hip Hop albums you’re going to hear this year. It’s worth your time.
