A feel-good refreshment

I know most people saw Logic’s name and let out an audible groan. Let’s pump the breaks and relax. For starters, this is mainly a Juicy J project exclusively produced by Logic. So Juicy J is actually the primary focus of this project.
Now the concept of the album is very creative. It is essentially an interview that Logic is conducting with Juicy J. After every conversation, the next track that would take place would be a reflection of something they discussed. Now this isn’t the normal Juicy J sound. He is for the most part rapping over Logic’s signature sound. The abrasive delivery that is synonymous with Juicy J blends well with the melodic emotional instrumentals that are synonymous with Logic.
Lyrically, it’s Juicy J so he has his moments for a catchy hook and some quick metaphors that leave an impact. Overall, it’s very much feel good music and that’s very on brand for him as of late. There are a few hidden features that I won’t spoil, but it’s refreshing to hear them. Logic was able to craft some interesting beats and seeing Juicy J find his pocket with an entirely different sound was impressive.
The album is full of nice melodies, simple but effective raps, seamless cohesion and a feel good sound. The interview through the album adds an extra layer of depth that’s not as seen from other projects, and it works. This is a solid piece of work.
Juicy J being able to display new angles to his music is cool to hear. He’s obviously still working on his craft and continues to add new weapons to his arsenal. Hopefully this project isn’t a one and done. It would be awesome to hear more from this duo.
