A Promising Debut That Blends R&B, Rap, and Pop into an Invigorating Musical Experience

A nice little album from an artist who has been able to put out a full body of work. Obviously, she is newer to a lot of folks, and per her last few tweets and interactions, her perception is very hit or miss based on public opinion. What I can say is that despite all that, she’s very talented musically.
Vocally, she’s impressive, allowing listeners to recognize the different levels of vocal range she hits. A significant aspect is that she’s diving into more than just R&B, which is actually where she shines the most. Leaning more into the cadence of rap and the upbeat sounds of pop really helps her music stand out and prevents it from feeling stagnant as you go through the project.
In addition to her vocal prowess, the production choices made throughout the album deserve commendation. There’s a dynamic quality to the soundscapes that keeps the listener engaged, with layers of instrumentation that support her voice without overshadowing it. Each track presents a unique flavor, showcasing her versatility while maintaining a cohesive theme. It’s evident that a lot of thought went into the arrangement of each song, enhancing the overall listening experience.
She’s very skilled lyrically, with catchy hooks and notable elements of storytelling as well. The pacing of the album is well done, and the overall sound is very lively. The production is clean and mixed very well. The elements of instrumentation with the acoustics are also impressive. The album flows well, which is very important.
This is a solid listen; there’s obviously room for growth, but for a debut project, it’s a very solid starting point.
