Tech N9ne is one of the best underground rappers of all time. After years of success, he finally gives people an in-depth look into his upbringing on this project. This album is full of tracks that have excellent detail from his early childhood through his young adult life. With cameos from his children as the skits, the album has an extra layer of personal touch with each track.

The storytelling element is done very well here and while the tracks are a tad long, the songs convey everything that he’s experienced coming up. The flow is satisfying, and the wordplay is done in a way that feels more like a regular conversation than just someone rapping. Production is smooth with some hard-hitting beats, and some more somber sounds to emphasize the intimate moments.

The album feels longer than it is and the overall cohesiveness is there, but a few tracks feel out of place. Outside of that, this is a pretty solid project from one of the most consistent rappers in the game.

When it comes to longevity, Tech has solidified himself as one of the most durable Hip Hop artists in history. If there was ever an example needed to show how you can be independently successful and in complete control of your career, Tech is it. He’s had commercial victories as well as building one of the most rabid cult-like fanbases in all of music. He can do this for as long he wants to without worry. The artists he’s brought up with him along the way is a testament to not only his character, but his love for the game.
