A hungry prospect on the hunt

Miquo is hailing out of Houston, and not confined to the sound of the city, he lets the art lead the path. It didn’t take long into this to see Miquo is an artist and a wordsmith with a lot to say. This is the type of project that reminds me Hip-Hop will never die.

Miquo sounds hungry here and ready for more. More music, more life, more recognition. The rare type of artist and hunger you see in the sea of MCs that 2025 provides. Miquo has a blend of bars and melody on top of production that stands strong with some of the best projects, and still has a Houston touch throughout.

Crazy that this was released at the end of 2023 and doesn’t have more acclaim. I don’t think there’s a bad song here, but some of the top tracks for me are hughes BROS., 4 YASELF., 4EVA BABY., CAN’T HIDE, (troubled TEARZ.) & money FACE.

This is a very reassuring listen that reminds us that despite the laundry list of young cookie-cutter rap artists, there are still a plethora of undiscovered talent with the chops to cut it. His sound not only resonates with an older demographic who requires technical lyricism and emotion, but it also demonstrates a new and evolved style of Hip-Hop from the next generation. The sky is the limit for artists of Miquo’s caliber. He might not be well-known yet, but it will be more than deserved in due time.

everybody HURT. is an amazing project from Miquo. All his skills are on display, rapping, singing, hooks and the way songs are structured are all impressive. This album was my first time getting into Miquo, but certainly won’t be my last!
