Too Busy to Enjoy

I’ve heard a solid chunk of songs and verses from 03 Greedo, and even though he never really hooked me as a fan, I didn’t hate what I’d heard either. So, when I saw he released Another Night Out, I thought it would be a good chance to see what a full project from Greedo would be and sound like. I ended up feeling mixed about it, but there were some moments I enjoyed.

I always knew 03 Greedo for his diverse styles and sounds from the times I’d heard him, so I went into this with no real expectations—more or less a blank slate. “Own People” is a song that really had to grow on me, and even then, it just grew into a song I think is cool. “Bossman Flow” is a song I really didn’t like, and I don’t particularly need BossMan’s flow from anyone, even BossMan himself. Greedo is a good rapper and even a decent singer, but sometimes his verses just didn’t click for me.

That kind of sums up how I feel about the whole project. There are moments I like on almost every song, but no songs truly stand out. “Somebody” is the closest to being a true standout track for me. When Greedo is rapping, I enjoy it, but he uses a lot of vocal effects, and when he gets into singing, I’m less interested—though he catches me with something I like here and there. The production flip-flops with 03 Greedo’s style, sometimes aggressive and abrasive, other times calm and flowing. But the contrast doesn’t always work for me. That said, the production is very good; it’s just that the vibes and themes of the songs don’t always mesh.

I liked this project, and there are glimpses where I could see myself really enjoying it, but as a whole, it just didn’t work. A few songs, like “Sea World Abu Dhabi,” I wasn’t into at all. Some had good verses but missed on hooks, or vice versa. I’ve never been an autotune fan, and that’s a big part of what’s keeping me from fully enjoying 03 Greedo. I never thought in 2025 autotune would still be such a prevalent issue.
