Finding the Flow State: How This Duo Delivered an Unexpected Gem

Released November 20, 2025
I’ve mentioned before that while I enjoy Ransom and Conductor Williams separately, they both have tendencies I’m not always into. However, this project leapt over almost all those issues and gelled in a way I wasn’t fully expecting. The Uncomfortable Truth is Ransom’s best release this year and ranks up there with Conductor’s best of the year as well.
CLAIRVOYANCE starts with a slow build, but when Ransom starts spitting and the choir hits, the show begins. Conductor Williams really laced Ransom up with the kind of beats that fit him best, making tracks that have enough going on that Ransom’s cadence never feels repetitive. On that same note, I noticed Ransom switched up his flow more often here, which is something I don’t always feel we get enough of. Specifically, BOMAYE has Ransom really changing things up—which is all I ever wanted from this incredible lyricist.
Conductor Williams, on the other hand, made amazing beats that haven’t been run through a VHS filter. I joke, but these beats are beautiful and CLEAN. This is the Conductor I love; I just need a splash of grime here and there, not on every track. TEMPLE RUN is a perfect example of the kind of fire Conductor Williams can bring.
I want more of this from both artists. Together, separately—I don’t care. But the grooves they got into for The Uncomfortable Truth represent exactly the flow state I want to see these two in. Mind you, I’m not saying “do this all the time” or that I want music made specifically for me, but this is what I am personally looking for. I hope this duo isn’t a one-and-done.
Standout Tracks: CLAIRVOYANCE, BOMAYE, TEMPLE RUN & THE HUMAN ANIMAL
