T.F. Brings out the grittiest line up of features on “Don’t Call Me Lucky”

I finally caught T.F. & Khrysis’s album from last year, The Green Bottle, and the timing couldn’t have been better. Right as I was catching up, we now get T.F. teaming up with the legendary DJ Muggs. The Green Bottle set an extremely high bar, but if anyone could match or even elevate that level again, it’s Muggs—and he delivered.
DJ Muggs’ production throughout this project is top-shelf. The beats on tracks like “Water Whip,” “Ressie Pieces,” “Poor Sports,” “Luchador,” and several others are absolutely stellar. They don’t just sit in the background—they actively elevate the songs and push some of my favorite moments to another level. While a couple of beats didn’t hit quite as hard for me, there wasn’t a single one I disliked.
T.F. and Muggs also assembled an all-star lineup of featured MCs. Roc Marciano, OT The Real, Meyhem Lauren, Ghostface Killah, and others all show up and deliver their A-games alongside T.F., adding extra layers of energy and chemistry to the album.
Of course, the star of the show is T.F. himself. Just like on The Green Bottle, he absolutely smokes this entire project with sharp, gritty lyricism and commanding presence. Standouts like “Water Whip” with Rome Streetz ride a haunting, ghostly beat while both MCs trade raw street bars. “CLAP” with Ghostface Killah flips a fast-paced, funky track that lets both rappers go in—Ghost in particular absolutely shreds his verse. Other highlights include “Luchador,” “El Sancho,” and “Ride Out,” but “Ressie Pieces” is hands-down my favorite song on the album. That beat is a straight-up masterpiece, and T.F., Meyhem Lauren, and OT The Real all drop lyrical showcases. The trio’s chemistry is perfect, making it a 10/10 track that I keep replaying.
T.F. has done it again. He’s a lyrical monster with a keen ear for high-caliber production. DJ Muggs did what he does best, and the abundance of strong features makes this project even richer. Not much else to say except: go check out this album immediately and run it up!
