A pristine display of artistic expression

Ever since Tierra Whack’s 2024 project WORLD WIDE WHACK, I’ve been eagerly anticipating more music from her. Her creativity, wordplay, and fearless approach were on full display, leaving me hungry for whatever she’d drop next.

In 2026, she finally delivered with WHACK’S MUSEUM—a fantastic album that was absolutely worth the wait, even if I’m still left wanting more.

Normally I don’t catch every single ahead of time, but I happened to hear “WAX PAPER” (produced by Conductor Williams) and instantly loved it. That track set the bar extremely high for the full project, and Tierra Whack not only met those expectations—she exceeded them. The album kicks off in full throttle and barely lets up for a while. The opening run—WHACK JOB, WAX PAPER, BRAZILLIAN WAX, WIGGIDY WHACK, TOTEM & GODDA—is pure fire. Tierra delivers major bar work across raw, dungeon-style beats that feel gritty and hard-hitting. It’s easily my favorite stretch of the album and one of the strongest opening sequences I’ve heard in a while.

SIREN and CANDLE WAX mark the first noticeable shift, feeling slightly calmer and more atmospheric, but make no mistake—Tierra is still attacking the beats with precision. Her flow on “CANDLE WAX” in particular is mesmerizing; the way she rides the instrumental is standout.

The latter portion of the album—QUEENS CROWN, EAR WAX, TWO FIFTEEN & FLOWERS—remains excellent. While these tracks don’t hit me quite as hard as that explosive first two-thirds, Tierra’s lyricism, content, and overall artistry stay top-tier throughout. Any one of these songs would be a highlight on most MCs’ projects, which really speaks to the consistent strength and depth of WHACK’S MUSEUM.

Tierra Whack has delivered one of the strongest albums of the year so far. I wish we didn’t have to wait so long between projects, but the quality makes every year of anticipation worth it. This is a must-listen album in 2026—one that will be very tough to beat. Highly recommended.
