Asad Ill Continues His Unstoppable 2026 Run with ‘The Allegory Of The Trap’

From the first time I heard Asad Ill, I’ve been absolutely hooked, and every time someone has mentioned him since, it’s about how dope he is. Well, he’s on a hell of a run in 2026 alone, especially with this new album, The Allegory Of The Trap, alongside producer Taco Bellinger—a new producer to me, but one who absolutely left their mark!

“The Get Mad (intro)” has no rapping, but it brings a great audio clip talking about how bad things are in the world. It works well in 2026 and sets the tone for the rest of the project. Let me not waste time: this album is incredible. The production from Taco Bellinger hits high marks across the board, bringing distinct sounds and styles to each track. Asad Ill matches all of them seamlessly, both in style and quality. “DOPEamine” is somber as the strings sing and the drums gently drive while Asad Ill speaks on the endless dopamine chase. It’s a great first song with a powerful message. “Shadows Dancing” brings a soulful beat for Asad to drop bars over. The hook here is simple yet really dope, and Asad Ill’s hook work across this entire album continuously hits.

“The Trap” is another standout and one of the few songs here with features, bringing in Scienze & Dean Caine. All three MCs chop it up over a jazzy, anthemic beat from Taco Bellinger. “Faze Out” is the last song I’ll highlight—a track where Asad Ill speaks on people of all sorts fading away, from friends to imposters in life and music: “Life’s a beach, and like the people, you can’t save sand.” It’s another standout track from an incredible album filled with them.

It’s tough to say, but out of the Asad Ill albums I’ve heard, this might be my favorite! That’s saying a lot considering I think I’ve already heard four of his projects this year, and they’re all great. Asad Ill has become a must-listen artist whenever he drops, and I just need the algorithms to keep me better informed. Don’t be surprised to see more of Asad Ill if you’re tuned in here!
