A Family Name, a First Statement

I’ve been saying that Ro$ama is the best member of BigXThaPlug’s 600 Ent label. He’s helped write huge hits like “The Largest,” and he’s already proved himself with projects like Orange Tape, Meet the 6ixers, and even 6WA from earlier this year. Now he’s back solo in 2026 with his debut album, My Forte — an album that shines as Ro$ama’s first major release.
As I’ve come to expect from 600 Ent members, including Ro$ama, the production here is top-notch. There’s a cohesive sound across the album that comes together through various producers. A few songs sound a bit too similar at times, but they still deliver strong beats. The music is filled with soul, great samples, and a heavy dose of energy that ties everything together. These are songs that can hit you at the core or get you out of your seat and moving — and often both.
Lyrically, Ro$ama brings street lyricism and a hustler’s spirit to each track. And if you listen to the life he’s described, you’ll understand where the authenticity in his words comes from. Hailing from Paris, Texas, Ro$ama clearly has a love for the West and classic hip-hop like N.W.A. That’s not only seen on the 600 album 6WA, but also here on a song like “Dangerous,” one of my favorite tracks on My Forte. “Hurt Nobody” is another standout, sampling “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody” by Brick — a high-energy, good-vibe record. “CBFW” blends that high energy with a more mellow style, but Ro$ama naturally elevates it with his voice. “Save Me” is the deepest song, bringing a somber sound as Ro$ama digs back and reveals some of his worst days.
My Forte isn’t just an album title. It’s an ode to Ro$ama’s family and his last name, Fortè. Members of his family speak at different points on the album, and it’s clear how proud of him they are — and rightfully so. Ro$ama has been carving his path, and this is only the beginning. My Forte confirms what the features already hinted at: Ro$ama can carry a full project with confidence, heart, and real presence. This project feels like a statement, not a trial run.
